Venezuela made history by winning their first ever FIBA America Championship. They played with tenacious defensive and the offense was almost perfect for a final game. Venezuela held nothing back and their direct ticket to the Rio Olympic is even sweeter with this gold medal.

Argentina Will Face Venezuela In FIBA America Finals


Argentina got revenge over Mexico who defeated them earlier and will play in the FIBA America Finals against a surprising Venezuela National Team. With this Final appearance Argentina and Venezuela will receive a direct ticket to the 2016 Rio Olympics, the second time in history. Mexico and Canada will match up for the 3rd place game today.

2016 FIBA Qualifier Tournament Format


The 2016 Rio Olympics Qualifier Tournament will consist of 18 teams that will compete in 2016 are to consist of 15 which have qualified – through their respective 2015 continental championships – for the OQTs and three that are OQT hosts.

Japan defeated China in the FIBA Asia Championships  (85-50) to defend title. In 2013, Japan captured the Asia Championships over Korea however not as commanding as over China.

Australia Earns Another Trip to Olympic Games 7th Consecutive


Australia Opals defeated the New Zealand Tall Ferns to earn yet another trip to the Olympic Games. Australia will participate in the 2016 Rio Olympics. The final game finished with an impressive Australia 80-63 win.
